The Guesthouse
La Grande Maison and Gardens is a premiere North Carolina Bed and Breakfast, as well as a gorgeous outdoor wedding venue. Built in 1916, and enlarged in 1997, La Grande Maison is spacious, yet comfortable and cozy. It has been decorated in the popular French Country style.
Throughout the house, you will find beautiful antiques and original artwork from all over the world. There is a special focus on art from the 17th through the 19th centuries. It is wonderfully eclectic.
Guests can choose between our three unique suites, each equipped with full private bathrooms, televisions, gas log fireplaces and Wi-Fi Internet connections. In each of our private bathrooms, we offer a clawfoot tub and a tile shower. Downstairs, in the casual La Beret room, recreation can be found with a pool table, stereo and television. La Beret also has a full bathroom.
Two large porches wrap around the house. The back porch features a view of the gardens, an open meadow and the sunset. The front porch offers its own private flower garden. Included in the landscape of the home, we have a shaded patio that leads directly into the back yard and has an entrance into La Beret.
La Grande Maison's dining room is elegantly decorated and comfortably seats 12. A full kitchen is supplied with whatever a cook may need.
At La Grande Maison, guests can enjoy the peace and quiet that comes from the ambiance of a bed and breakfast surrounded by nature. Relaxation comes naturally here. As a courtesy to the inn and other guests, there is no smoking inside of the house or the gazebo. We gladly supply ashtrays in designated smoking areas.
The property has ample parking for any number of guests both at the house and the gazebo.
